Winter Grazing

This is always a big issue in Winter and not just for Dairy either…. Luckily in some ways anyway we are not a very intensive part of the country when it comes to Ag but there is some basic things that can be done to keep out of the spot light. One of the basics things I often think while driving around is why run a break fence away from a road when then all the public look at is mud, where as if you grazed them back towards the road it would only be the last few breaks that would look bad. Obviously the news and media make things look far worse that it is, and the fact is in Winter its muddy and we cant just bring in all the stock in side by the fire, but like it or not things like this are only going to get worse and NZ is now more a Urban based than Rural.
